How the anti-theft system for valves and tanks works
The LiteWIRE plastic fiber cable is inserted like a padlock into the valve, following its shape, so that the cable must necessarily be bent or broken to open it.
Once passed through the valve, the plastic fiber connects to a LiteSUN or LiteSUN Plus analysis board, sensitive respectively to the cutting or to the cutting and bending of the fiber. The sensor transmits the alarm through a normally closed clean contact, which must be connected to any alarm control panel or siren.
To allow normal use of the valve with the alarm deactivated, one or more junction points are provided, to release and reattach the fiber.
The length of the LiteWIRE plastic optical fiber cable, the number and position of the junction points are decided according to the shape of the valve, while the choice of the analyzer will depend on what you want to detect. Both types of board do not detect vibrations, so the system is immune to false alarms.
This protection padlock for valves consists of three elements:
- LiteSUN: sensor that detects the interruption of the coded light signal
or
- LiteSUN Plus: sensor that generates coded optical signals and receives them, interpreting their variations.
- LiteWIRE: plastic optical fiber cable that carries the signal generated by the analyzer; can be standard or with metal armor for underground installations or in places where rodents are present.
- Joint: threaded metal element that serves to join two ends of plastic fiber terminated with FSMA connectors.
Advantages of our alarm for valves
- In the presence of LiteSUN Plus, an alarm is signaled already at the attempt to open the valve.
- Protects valves and other valuable objects through which the cable can be passed.
- Easy and quick to install.
- No maintenance required after installation.
- The cable can also be installed in environments with flammable substances, because it only transmits light.
- Totally immune to electromagnetic interference.
