How the intrusion system for air ducts works
Many buildings see intrusion attempts through ventilation ducts: shopping centers, banks, department stores…
Currently, our system is the only specific anti-intrusion solution for the protection of ventilation ducts, compatible with air movement and equipped with filters for the compensation of sudden temperature changes.
The system detects intrusion attempts through the bending and/or cutting of the LiteWIRE plastic optical fiber, mounted on the external nozzles of the ducts. The detected signal is sent to the alarm control panel through the NC contact present on the analyzer.
It is possible to create a closed “loop” connection using only the analyzer, or a point-to-point connection by adding a signal transmitter.
Vibrations created by the passage of air are not detected, which is why the system is insensitive to false alarms. For maintenance and cleaning needs of the duct, it is always possible to pass through it by detaching the fiber from the fixing bolts.
The system is modular and adaptable to any need, it can protect a single duct or multiple ducts, depending on the distance to be managed.
The protection system for air ducts consists of three elements:
- Analysis board with integrated power meter, IP55 plastic box, mechanical tamper sensor.
- LiteWIRE: plastic optical fiber cable that carries the light signal generated by the analyzer.
- Fixing bolts for the LiteWIRE optical fiber cable.
