How the system works on flexible fences
The perimeter protection system for flexible fences uses the following principle: an attempt to climb over generates deformations of the fence and consequently of the plastic optical fiber adhered to it thanks to special bolts. The mechanical stresses produced by an intrusion attempt generate variations of the light on the LiteWIRE cable, the LiteFENCE analyzer detects them and gives the alarm.
In order for the light to be altered inside the fiber, the mesh must be mechanically stressed, which is why moving vehicles or adverse weather conditions, such as wind, rain or snow, do not induce false alarms. The system does not interfere with the area surrounding the fence, allowing the passage of vehicles and people in the vicinity; in this way, the anti-intrusion protection on the fence can be kept active H24.
If, following an intrusion attempt, the fiber has undergone permanent deformation, but has not been cut/interrupted, the analyzer, after giving the alarm, automatically adapts to the new working condition and rearms, restoring the protection of the fence.

The anti-theft system for perimeter protection for flexible fences consists of three elements:
- LiteFENCE: sensor that sends and receives a coded light signal, controlling its variations, manages up to 250m of fiber.
- LiteWIRE: plastic optical fiber cable (with UV filter) that carries the light signal and “reads” the deformations of the fence.
- Cable tensioner bolt: opto-mechanical accessory that amplifies the effect generated by the deformation of the fence on the cable.
The LiteFENCE analyzer is equipped with an easy and intuitive optical power measurement tester, which allows the installer to verify, at any time during installation, the correctness of the actions performed.
The system is simple to install without the need for any programming or special installer training.
Wind and other vibrations (caused for example by moving vehicles or birds) do not produce any deformation of the fence and therefore are not identified as alarms. This important feature makes the system immune to false alarms.
Advantages of the alarm system for flexible fences
- Easy and quick to install for anyone.
- No false alarms due to weather conditions.
- No maintenance required after installation (the sensor follows the slow variations of the system, for example: temperature changes, growth of small vegetation and aging of components).
- Also suitable for sloping, irregular or terraced terrain.
- Does not require long calibration phases.
- The plastic optical fiber cable is easily repaired (30 seconds per connector).
- Active H24.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can dogs, cats or small animals in general cause false alarms?
Small animals that climb on the net are too light to cause a deflection such as to generate an alarm. Large dogs can cause interference similar to that of an adult person.
- Which alarm control panels is the LiteFENCE analyzer compatible with?
With all alarm control panels. The alarm output is an NC clean contact.
- Does the system detect the cutting of the net?
The system is not sensitive to the cutting of a single wire of the fence. If the opening of a gap in the fence generates a deformation of the fiber, the system sends an alarm; to increase this type of protection, you can add more fiber passages, also depending on the height of the fence (4/6 passages).
- If the fiber is damaged, can it be repaired?
Yes, the fiber can be easily repaired with two connectors and a mechanical joint. Everything can be done on the field in a few minutes, in any environmental condition, with simple tools as shown in this video.
