Temporary fence

Perimeter alarm sensor for mobile construction site fences

LiteFENCE for the protection of temporary fences.

How the alarm system for mobile fences works

The LiteWIRE armored optical fiber cable is mounted on the fence to be protected and connected to a LiteFENCE analysis board. This board sends and receives a coded optical signal, constantly monitoring any variations in signal power generated by deformations on the fiber following attempts to climb over or remove a fence panel.

In case of variation or interruption of the received signal, the analyzer generates an alarm signal. The system is not sensitive to vibrations, filtering out false alarms related to weather conditions or the passage of vehicles and people.

The entire area, both outside and inside the perimeter, remains free, usable and walkable, with the security system active H24.

The LiteFENCE sensor allows detecting intrusion attempts on temporary construction site fences that can hardly be protected with conventional systems. These are fences that can oscillate considerably in case of wind gusts or vehicle passage. Construction sites have a limited duration, and the security system for their protection must be modifiable even by unqualified personnel. Our intrusion detection system can be easily disassembled and reused at the next construction site, and the release and reattachment system is very simple.

The LiteFENCE system for mobile and temporary fences consists of three elements:

LiteFENCE: sensor that sends and receives a coded light signal, controlling its variations, manages up to 100m of armored cable.

LiteWIRE: pre-terminated armored plastic optical fiber cable, carries the light signal and “reads” the fence deformations. Its armor makes it robust and suitable for construction sites.
Fast bolt for armoured cable: opto-mechanical accessory that amplifies the effect generated by the fence deformation on the fiber. It is also useful for attaching/detaching the cable for gate opening by operators.

When an intrusion attempt, by climbing over or lifting the fence, induces a deformation of the fiber, the LiteFENCE analyzer detects the variation of the optical signal and sends the alarm to the control panel to which it is connected. If, following this event, the fiber has undergone permanent deformation but has not been interrupted, the analyzer automatically adapts to the new working condition and rearms, restoring fence protection.

Advantages of the perimeter alarm system for mobile fences

  • Easy and quick to install for anyone.
  • Modifiable even by unqualified personnel.
  • No false alarms due to weather conditions.
  • No maintenance required after installation (the sensor tracks slow system variations, such as temperature changes, vegetation growth, and component aging).
  • Also suistable for sloping, irregular, or terraced terrain.
  • Does not require long calibration phases or special maintenance.
  • Active H24.
